About

We Remember When

Before the cloud. Before Wi-Fi. Before everything just worked.

There was an era when Ethernet was either thick or thin. When not many used TCP/IP — you were more likely running VINES-IP, IPX/SPX, DECNet, or NetBIOS. When Token Ring was a perfectly viable Layer 2 technology and nobody thought twice about it. When 640K was all you had, and you made it count.

If you were there — if you pulled cable through drop ceilings, if you ever argued the merits of a hub versus a switch, if you remember the smell of a server room in 1994 — this brand is for you.

Built for the People Who Built the Network

Retro IT T-Shirts was born out of a simple idea: the engineers, sysadmins, and enterprise tech pioneers who built the modern internet deserve to wear their history with pride.

Not the sanitized, startup-mythology version of tech history. The real one. The one with proprietary protocols, vendor lock-in, and the quiet satisfaction of a network that stayed up because you knew what you were doing.

We make apparel that speaks that language — for the people who lived it, and for the next generation curious enough to ask what a BNC connector was.

The Aesthetic

Every design pulls from the visual vocabulary of the data center era: terminal green, amber phosphor, rack-mount hardware, patch panels, and the kind of documentation that came in three-ring binders. Bold. Functional. No fluff.

Just like the infrastructure it celebrates.

Who We're For

  • The sysadmin who still has a working VAX in the garage
  • The network engineer who can recite OSI layers in their sleep
  • The developer who started on a dumb terminal and never forgot it
  • Anyone who has ever typed ipconfig /all and felt at home

If you know, you know. And if you're just discovering this world — welcome. The documentation is extensive, the community is opinionated, and the t-shirts are excellent.
